I just decided not to go on running my blog without getting any profit.
So yes, applied for adsense, and oh, got accepted within two hours. I am just mainly testing it, placing ads over the site (not all over), so you should see a few ads from now on. Hope it wouldn’t be too much of a bother, and it blends in nicely.
I also added Adsense for search. Now you can search both the site and the web. Uh-oh. As if you wouldn’t know that. Hopefully, this might generate some revenue as well.
And oh, I also added a Meebo me widget. Forgot meebo? Read my entry about it here. Now you can chat with me.
Just use the tool on the sidebar. Simple.
Hope this makes the blog more…attractive, and most importantly, reader-friendly.

Meebo is a useful site that allows you to stay logged in to your Yahoo!, AIM, Google Talk, MSN, ICQ and jabber accounts. Yes! Just go to Meebo, enter the usernames and passwords of the networks you want to log in to, and you can, without downloading any of the required software. It shows all your friends in a handy buddy list.
IM everywhere? Yes. That’s the great thing about Meebo. As long as you have a browser, and a computer,(an internet connection too, of course :-)) you can log in.

Success With Auctions is conducting an article popularity contest. It is quite simple, really. Just write an article about what you know. Submit the article, and the administrators of the site will review it and put it up at their website. The winner will be selected on the basis of the most popular article, i.e., based on the number of social bookmarking sites votes (Digg, Netscape, etc.)
I wrote an article on what I like the most - Making money online.
My article pretty much explains what I do to make money online; nothing much more, nothing much less. Read the rest of this entry »

Give away of the day is a great site that provides commercial software for free download. Yes, the softwares for which you normally would have to pay are available for free download for 24 hours. But after 24 hours, that particular software is no longer available. It is absolutely legal. Don’t expect to find popular software titles like MS Office or Norton Antivirus or whatever, but they do provide some cool softwares from companies which may not have the budget to compete with the big players. If you run a Wordpress blog, you probably know how much of a nightmare it is to select a good theme. It might seem good, but it is certainly not perfect, right? To give that personal touch, it is always good to design your own theme. It might be difficult, but oh!; the satisfaction you get when it is completed is amazing.
For the exact same reason I have been seaching for a good tutorial about designing a Wordpress theme on your own. Somewhat of a good knowledge on HTML, CSS and PHP would be good, but it is never too late to learn. Just head over to the W3schools. They have some of the best tutorials on the web.
Ok, everyone ready? Read the rest of this entry »

I am not making this post to offend anyone, but firstly, this is because I read an article about how social networking sites may make us more reclusive than social. Here is a link to the article. It is true, the internet can be addicting; but can anyone completely stop using the internet? If that could be, I would not be typing this! Well, IIT Mumbai tried to help students “get a life” -
Just a few weeks ago, IIT Mumbai announced its decision to help its students `get a life’ by terminating internet connectivity for an hour between 11.30 p.m. and 12.30 a.m. Apparently, these juvenile netizens, like countless others all over the nation, were engaging in the greatest delinquency of them all — hitting self destruction by choosing to stay online over all other activities: attending classes, studying, pursuing other hobbies or means of recreation and forging new real-life relationships.
What does this show? True, the internet is addicting, true, it may cause lots of problems. Eye strain, back pain, and what not? Read the rest of this entry »
