Help John Chow win the RSS Competition

JohnChow.com and Shoemoney.com are having an RSS competition, to see who will have the most number of RSS readers by the end of October.

John doesn’t surely want to lose, so he’s running a contest to make sure that people do subscribe and make him win.

The prizes include :

  • A 2GB iPod nano (value $149)
  • Ad in the RSS feed (value $200)
  • John Chow dot Com Review (value $400)
  • 7 Winning Strategies for Trading Forex (value $20)
  • $50 of cold hard cash by Preblogging.com Already won!
  • Two books (The Search and Wikinomics) by Piggy Bank Pie
  • A free review by CashQuests (value $80)
  • One hour of free blog consultation (value $60) by Blog Louder
  • Two $25 Barnes & Noble gift cards by Shaun Carter
  • $144 webhosting package from Tribune Hosting
  • Two text links and a review (value $50) by Online Cash Flow
  • One 125×125 banner (value $15) by Etienne Teo
  • Five 1000 directory submission packages (value $550) by SEO Next
  • A complete Wordpress blog redesign valued at $750 by Adriann Pienaar of Adii.

You could say I don’t want to lose this competition, as well! :)

How to enter :

John wants you to subscribe to his RSS feed, and then check it every day for the rest of the month. Blog about it, which I am doing right now. Then, link to the post which announced the rest of the prizes, and/or link to the post which announced the RSS Competition.

How to win the prizes :

The $50 in cash was already won, and John says he will give the 7 winning strategies for trading Forex book away to random RSS readers. The John Chow Dot Com review, and the iPod Nano are going to be given away to people who come up with the most creative ideas of increasing his RSS Count. Here are some ideas from me :

  • Run a VERY BIG contest, which requires readers to subscribe
  • PAY every new reader who subscribes. Something like $1 or so. Expensive, but if he is determined…
  • Run a contest to pay a good prize for someone who refers the most number of people to his RSS feed.
  • Creative advertising! For example, promise the person who makes a video promoting John’s RSS feed, a free advertising on his blog, or something similar.

I guess I entered, huh?

  1. The 2 most wealthiest bloggers are having contest. That is great

  2. Yeah, that is great Greg, but this post is a bit old. The contest finished months ago, and from what I remember, Shoemoney won.

  3. John Chow and Shoemoney dont give any real advice on making money. If you really want to, learn from Griz, or Vic, or at least Court
