Website Value Calculator
You probably came here looking for information on how to find the value of your domain name or your website. This post wasn’t originally made to deal with that, but since you are here, here are some tips to know the value of your domain name or your website :
Finding the value of your domain name
- Firstly, is your domain name a TLD? – A TLD (Top-level-Domain) is a domain which has an extension of .com, .net, .org, .edu, etc. TLDs have a LOT more value than a free sub-domain like http://yourblog.blogspot.com or http://www.yourblog.wordpress.com
- Is it a .com? – Under TLDs, too, .com usually tends to get valued more than other extensions.
- How long has the domain name been around? – A domain name which has been registered for 5 years has potentially more backlinks, thus increasing its value.
- Is it short? – A domain name can be upto 63 characters long, but you don’t like dealing with www.youcanlearnhowtomakemoneyonlineforfreeherenow.com when the same thing can be said with www.makemoneyonline.com Plus, it’s more attractive too.
- Does it have many special characters? – The general trend is that the more special characters you have in your domain name, the lesser its value.
- Is it a keyword-oriented name or a personal domain name? You have more luck with selling a domain name like iphonehacks.com rather than joehacksphones.com Think about it. If you sell the former domain, the new owner could brand it in whatever way he wants it. But with Joehacksphones.com, well, he’s pretty limited.
I hope that these tips helped you get a basic understanding on the value of your domain names. There are many domain apparaisal tools available on the web, which a simple Google search will turn up.
Finding the value of your website
You want to find the value of your website so that you could get a basic idea on how much you could make if you sell it. I’m pretty much dead on this thing, so Google is your friend.

CyberWyre is presenting a website value calculator, that calculates your website’s value with different factors, such as Alexa rank, PageRank, Backlinks, etc. It also gives an estimate of how much money you could make from different factors, such as selling Text Link Ads, Affliate marketing, etc.
I was never honestly impressed with Domain value appraisal sites like Leapfish, because sometimes they tend to go wrong. I like the fact that this calculator says “Website Value” and not just Domain name value. There may be inaccuracies, but hey, the stats look quite good!
According to CyberWire’s calculator, Sarat’s Web is worth,
Here is it from their own website :
Your site is valued at $36,601
Monthly Earning Potential
- Text Link Advertising
Your site could sell text link advertisements at a rate of approximately $65/Link/Month.Check here for a review of Text Link Ads, currently the best way to sell text links from your website.- Affiliate Marketing
Your site could earn approximately $437/Month through affiliate marketing.Check here for a guide to starting to work with affiliate programs, including what they are, and how to insert advertisements into your own site.- Independent Advertising
Your site could earn approximately $54/Month through independent advertising arrangements specific to your site’s niche. Take a look around to see if there are any companies which could benefit from advertising on your website. For example, if you run a website about golf in Tampa, Florida, perhaps it would be a good idea to call a few of the local courses and see if they would like to purchase advertising, or a review on your site.Google and PageRank are trademarks of Google Inc. This website is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google Inc.
Looks quite cool, eh? Why don’t you go over there and check your own website’s value?
It’s an ok tool, but some of the prices it gives are definitely way higher than they would be in actuality (I tried out one of my old websites, which doesn’t even have its own domain; it has a subdomain of pr3 and doesn’t really receive much traffic and it was valued at 83,000 when in reality it is less than 100 probably). Automated programs never get it right though, the only good appraisal is done manually, but that costs money. By the way, no one looks at Leapfish seriously because it is so off all the time, webmasters just use it for amusement (hopefully no one uses it thinking it is accurate)
I have to agree on that, myp. But as I said, it does feel good to see your blog valued at $36000, even though it is wrong.
It is a nice tool bhut how accurate can the calculator goes? Because I found that some website wit higher page ranks has lower value than the lower one.
radioactive, I have to say it is not accurate at all. But it is still worth a laugh.
I’m still trying to get my value over $1k!
This was the first calculator I found. I wonder how he calculates the value…
Thank you for visiting my blog!
cooliojones, since it gives the Alexa ranking, Google PageRank, and number of backlinks in the result, I suppose it does calculate it based on these.
It was right on the money with me.

thanks
Nice tool thanks buddy
wow! nice article. thanks for sharing
Its a fun tool but i think its more for entertainment than anything. None the less thank you for sharing.
Its a nice tool but not more accurate
so try this tool>>> http://domainvalue.congland.com/
Nice tool.. my website is worth $283.
Something is wrong… I calculated the value of google and I saw is $283.. that can’t be possible
Yeh, none of these tools work very well. The actual value of each website has to do with a few more factors, such as industry, value and quality of content, number of subscribers, number of repeat visitors, and the size of the website, to name a few…
Do website appraisals really work? I still couldn’t figure out how the values are derived… Sometimes I think that even when a human being is doing the website appraisal, it could be partial and bias and sometimes off, what more if it’s done by an automated program of sorts?
Although, it surely boosts up your ego as a webmaster and gives you a laugh when you know what your website is really worth as compared to what is projected.
Just a thought though… these website appraisal things are there to make people see the potential of the site, not really what its worth.
You should also consider websitefact.com ; they provide a nice summary of the website performance. I find their WF rank being more accurate than Alexa.
Yea, http://www.websitefact.com is alright
It’s good for someone want to set price to sell own domain.
can someone tell me how much this domain is worth,
http://www.backoncraigslist.com
Thanks
I usually don’t post in blogs but your blog forced me to, amazing work.. beautiful !
