Making money online is a hot topic. Everyone wants to, of course, but few have the dedication to put a lot of time into this and then see it pay off. Most of the people think it is as simple as spending 30 minutes everyday doing whatever to make millions as the internet ‘gurus’ claim but soon understand it isn’t that easy. Many follow the right method, but drop the idea before it makes a few bucks.
And it is even more interesting when it comes to children, myself included. Spending an amount of time at the computer, making money, getting the money, etc. seems wonderful, but it isn’t that easy.
In my opinion, Making money online for kids :
- is harder than for adults because most of the really fun programs require you to be over 18.
- is easier than adults because you don’t have a job or anything to deter you, and could spend more time on the PC.
- could be more fun, since children find better ways to make money online like playing games, etc.
Okay, enough said. If you are still there with me, I can take you through some of the major ways through which you could make money online :
- Blogging : One of the best ways to make money online from, if you want to. If you don’t really know what a blog is, remember that what you are reading right now is a blog post from a blog. Some more background info here.
- GPT industry : Short form of ‘Get Paid To’. GPT sites are those which pay you to do certain things, such as do certain offers, buy something, fill out surveys, etc. It is a vast industry, which can provide something more than pocket change if you try.
- PTC industry :Short form of ‘Paid to Click’. This could have been said as a part of the GPT industry, but now it is bigger. Simply put, PTCs pay you to view an ad for a certain time. Some people make hundreds of dollars per month from the major PTC sites.
- Gaming : Online games are a good way to spend some time. But there are many sites which pay you to play the games. Could be the best for you if you feel that gaming is your area of choice.
That’s about it. It’s not the end of the topic, for there are countless more ways, which can’t be said in a single post. Please do drop a comment if you like this post. I will try to elaborate on each way of making money. It’s my favourite hobby as well.

- PAY every new reader who subscribes. Something like $1 or so. Expensive, but if he is determined…
- Run a contest to pay a good prize for someone who refers the most number of people to his RSS feed.
- Creative advertising! For example, promise the person who makes a video promoting John’s RSS feed, a free advertising on his blog, or something similar.

I found this online drawing tool, where you could draw your own pictures and all. Well, it may not be a new thing, but since this was the first time I found such a site, it was a great thing to me.
The toolbox is pretty simple, with minimal colours and shades, and also a text tool, eraser, and brush. You can also select the size of the brush, as well as the opacity. You can also select a frame. After you finish the painting, you can replay it, save and send it to someone, or hang it in the gallery. If you choose save & send, you can also choose whether you want the site to consider it for the public gallery.

Welcome to dontclick.it, where you don’t have to ..yes, click, to navigate. It started as an abstract idea, as they say from their own story. Frankly, I love this site. Even though it sometimes seems hard not to click, it gets easier over time. The entire interface is so designed that you don’t have to click even once – just move your mouse to navigate.
The website also tells us about the importance of click, the click history, commercial click, and so on.

If you know about Text-Link-Ads, you probably also know that they offer one of the best programs to monetize your blog. Really, you get paid for having unobstructive text-ads anywhere on your site, could it get any better?
Before signing up, I was looking whether there was any tool that would check how much I could earn through their program. Then I found that they had such a calculator on their website!

You probably came here looking for information on how to find the value of your domain name or your website. This post wasn’t originally made to deal with that, but since you are here, here are some tips to know the value of your domain name or your website :
Finding the value of your domain name
- Firstly, is your domain name a TLD? – A TLD (Top-level-Domain) is a domain which has an extension of .com, .net, .org, .edu, etc. TLDs have a LOT more value than a free sub-domain like http://yourblog.blogspot.com or http://www.yourblog.wordpress.com
- Is it a .com? – Under TLDs, too, .com usually tends to get valued more than other extensions.
- How long has the domain name been around? – A domain name which has been registered for 5 years has potentially more backlinks, thus increasing its value.
- Is it short? – A domain name can be upto 63 characters long, but you don’t like dealing with www.youcanlearnhowtomakemoneyonlineforfreeherenow.com when the same thing can be said with www.makemoneyonline.com Plus, it’s more attractive too.
- Does it have many special characters? – The general trend is that the more special characters you have in your domain name, the lesser its value.
- Is it a keyword-oriented name or a personal domain name? You have more luck with selling a domain name like iphonehacks.com rather than joehacksphones.com Think about it. If you sell the former domain, the new owner could brand it in whatever way he wants it. But with Joehacksphones.com, well, he’s pretty limited.
I hope that these tips helped you get a basic understanding on the value of your domain names. There are many domain apparaisal tools available on the web, which a simple Google search will turn up.
Finding the value of your website
You want to find the value of your website so that you could get a basic idea on how much you could make if you sell it. I’m pretty much dead on this thing, so Google is your friend.
Sell Blog.
Sell Website.

CyberWyre is presenting a website value calculator, that calculates your website’s value with different factors, such as Alexa rank, PageRank, Backlinks, etc. It also gives an estimate of how much money you could make from different factors, such as selling Text Link Ads, Affliate marketing, etc.
I was never honestly impressed with Domain value appraisal sites like Leapfish, because sometimes they tend to go wrong. I like the fact that this calculator says “Website Value” and not just Domain name value. There may be inaccuracies, but hey, the stats look quite good!
According to CyberWire’s calculator, Sarat’s Web is worth,

Yeah, you might think my review of the “Making money online” blogs might never end, would you? Rest assured, I will post only the best ones out there.
Carlocab.com is a blog about making money, run by a 14-year old blogger, Carl Ocab. He just turned 14, so you might think that he should change his blog title to ‘Make Money Online with a 14 year old’. But he doesn’t. He has built a good brand, and as he says, he should stick with it.
